About Larry Glover
Host & Executive Producer
For decades, Larry Glover has been one of the most trusted and recognizable voices in Central Kentucky sports and talk media. A native of Hawesville, Kentucky, and an alumnus of the University of Kentucky, Larry first broke onto the airwaves in unique fashion: by winning a radio contest after accurately predicting Duke’s victory over Kentucky in the legendary 1992 Elite Eight game. That contest win earned him his own broadcast slot, laying the groundwork for a distinguished, multi-decade career behind the microphone.
Larry became a staple of the Bluegrass sports community through his early work hosting Sunday Sports Central and spending five seasons as a broadcaster on the UK Radio Network. For seven seasons and nearly 1,000 games, he served as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations and the primary play-by-play voice for the Lexington Legends. During his tenure, he built a 26-affiliate broadcast network—the largest in Minor League Baseball history at the time—earning him the 2005 South Atlantic League Media Relations Director of the Year award, followed by the honor of Kentucky Sportscaster of the Year in 2008.
As the long-time host of Larry Glover Live on Lexington’s News Talk 590 WVLK, Larry led popular evening drive and midday programs, along with flagship postgame call-in shows for Kentucky Wildcats football and men’s basketball. Known for his sharp sports analysis, balanced commentary, and engaging interviews, he has consistently delivered insightful conversation to fans and listeners across the Commonwealth.
Now, Larry brings that veteran expertise and signature conversational style to Larry Glover Live—broadcasting live Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM EST across YouTube and X (Twitter).
